Club Racing

The Meriden Ski Club participates in the racing program sponsored by the Connecticut Ski Council (CSC). You must be a club member in good standing to participate in the racing. The clubs in the CSC compete against each other to obtain the highest points.

Sue Scheibenpflug

CSC racing at Mount Southington Ski Area

Sue Scheibenpflug is the Monday night race coordinator for the Meriden Ski Club.  The club participates in a weekly race series sponsored by the CSC.  This consists of 8 weekly races held at Mount Southington, Five State races (Slalom, Giant Slalom, Downhill, Snowboard and Cross-country) plus a three day On-snow carnival which is at Sugarbush in VT. this year.  The racers are split into groups based on their age and gender and only compete against those in their group for points. The 12 best times in each group receive points for their club.  The time is taken for the best of two runs on the race course. See the CSC web site for age .

Have you always wanted to learn to race (with no pressure or times)?  Than the MSC race clinic is for you!  Meriden Ski Club will be hosting a race clinic for all members on:
 Friday December 14 at 6:30 at Mt Southington Ski Area.
You can purchase lift tickets at any regular meeting at a discount for the evening and the club will pay for the clinic.  For this clinic to happen, the race hill must also be open. You can call me or email me for information about this clinic. 

Our no snow day will be Friday, January 4, 2008, same time and place.
Please meet at the base of hill 5 (in front of the Mountain Room) at 6:30

The 2nd race clinic will be on:
Friday, January 25, 2008, 6:30 pm, same place.

Sandy Meyerhofer

Sandy Meyerhofer is the coordinator for the the annual club race.

Club Race - Come and take your turn on the race course...see how your time is compared to the other club members. Trophies will be awarded in categories by age at the Annual Award Diner for the best times.

This years Club Race will be at Mt Southington on February 01, 2008.  Your best time for two runs on the race course will be counted.  This race is open to all club members and their children.
