President's Letter
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the many new
volunteers to MSC leadership positions. This points to a very
promising and interesting membership year.
We have a new ski bus chairman whom many of you met last
season, his name is Kris Mierney and two assistants, Tim
Penton and Dabney Mocklis. We will have two ASIA certified
ski instructors added to assist Don Simmonds with the free ski
lesson program, Amanda Burris and David Guzzo. It is a goal to
open the scope of this program to include intermediate and
expert lessons.
Jim Michlewski is taking over as the new bulk ticket chairman.
Jim will be handling the Original and Northern Tier bulk
ticket programs. Sales will be starting in about a week, so
get your membership dues in soon.
Brandi Bendanna is our new ambassador and with Robin Guzzo's
help, will keep you up to date with the CSC Snow Ball and
members nights.
First Vice President Neil Young has the Open House program
Oct. 27th just about finalized, and our new recording
secretary Terri Pappagallo brings a little class to the Board
of Directors.
We enjoyed the summer programs including the Rock Cats ball
game, the mini golf and the pig roast. These were all well
attended thanks to the efforts of Maggie Bender, Neil Young and
Linda Magrath, chairmen respectively.
Now we are embarking upon a new membership year and ski
season, which combines with the 50th anniversary of the MSC.
Anthony Santavasi is chairman of the event and has put
together a great committee. The first meeting produced a
terrific amount of ideas and progress. Members with
suggestions are encouraged to contact Anthony. The event will
be at the Hawthorne Inn at the end of April.
The Sunday River, Stowe and week long trip to Steamboat,
Colorado are already posted on our web site for 2012. Deposits
for Steamboat are now due.
In closing, I want to thank all of the previous officers,
directors and chairmen for an outstanding performance in
executing their duties this past year. Also, the long
term Officers and Directors, who have been the back bone of
the MSC serving with loyalty and dedication for many years,
you all know who they are.
Looking forward to an exciting membership year.
President Russ Hayden
