President's Letter
Welcome back to another exciting and fun packed season with the
Meriden Ski Club. We are into only the second month of the new
membership year and all of your officers and chairmen have
completed or are well into their event organization for the
entire year.
First up is the MSC Open House, Oct. 27th; followed by the
C.S.C. Snow Ball Nov. 19th at the Windsor Marriott. Next it
will be the Spaghetti Supper, Meatheads Film Festival,
Christmas Party and the first ski bus trip to Mount Snow
Dec.18th. All this in the next three months. Once the snow
falls and the first of there New Year arrives, there are trips
and more trips, car, bus and plane. It will be really be
difficult for anyone to take part in all the scheduled events
the MSC has planned.
One under utilized tool that we have is a well organized, easy
to navigate club web site. Don Comstock has organized every
club activity including the who, what, why, when and where
available at the click of your mouse. Every member is
encourage to peruse the site at least once a month.
I want to mention the extraordinary work and accomplishments
of your officers, directors and committee chairmen. It truly
amazes me that they all work so well together, decisions made
are well thought out and speedily implemented, ready to take
on the next challenge. You can witness this first hand by
visiting our web site. There are over 30 member volunteers
working to keep the MSC successful.
We have a large committee under the chairmanship of Anthony
Santovasi planning a huge 50th anniversary celebration coming
for the end of April. Don't be bashful about contributing
your input.
While we await the first snowfall, the task of raking all
those beautiful leaves remains. Halloween is up, and a sure
signal of the changing season. Then the cold weather and the
sound of snow guns will be heard.
Looking forward to another extraordinary ski and boarding
season.
President Russ
Hayden
