President's
Letter
The weather is cooling down and leaves are changing. It has
snowed in the Colorado Rockies and up at Mount Mansfield.
It will take a couple of months to work its way toward CT.
As the days and nights get colder, we think about getting
our skis, boards and bodies in shape. Waxing, tuning and
sharpening those edges.
Our first social event, the Open House, is fast approaching.
Bob Fowler has spent a lot of time sending letters to
invite mountain reps, ski shops and soliciting donations.
I'm positive it will be as successful as in the past years.
Mark your calendars for this event on Oct 29th.
The new Mount Southington chair lift is installed, the fine
tuning of electrical and safety features is taking place
now, with a fully operational date of Nov. 1, 2009 expected.
The Bulk Ticket programs are now complete with John Moisuk
handling the lion's share and Russ Hayden chairing the new
add-on Northern Tier program of Burke Mtn, Jay Peak and
Stowe. Hopefully this new benefit will be continued
annually, well into the future.
Those of you in the market for new skis, boards, equipment
and clothing, remember that Bob's Chalet in Bristol will
have their Ski Swap at Mt Southington on Oct 24th and 25th.
The much larger ski swap at Ski Sundown will be held Nov
6-8th. These are great events to purchase equipment and top
of the line clothing.
The ski deals for lodging and lift tickets to enjoy the
start of the season over Thanksgiving holiday weekend are
coming up soon. Hope that many of you will be able to take
part.
The first two club bus trips will cost only $10.00, with the
remaining eight at the cost of $15.00. Only one bus will run
per trip, except for the last tail gate party, with two
buses running. I recommend that you sign up early, as these
trips will sell out fast at these prices.
THINK SNOW!!!! ~ Marge Hayden
