Stowe Mountain Weekend Trip

Letter
Our fiscal year is winding down and our members have enjoyed one
of the best skiing seasons in a decade. Northern New England
continues to get pounded with more snow. Our trips to Stowe,
Sugar Bush and the tail gate party at Okemo are primed for
exceptional conditions.
This is also the most important planning month of the entire
year, with election of officers and directors on March 13,
followed by membership approval of the 2008/2009 MSC budget on
March 20. The funding of the club activities and programs is
the single most crucial responsibility of the membership. I
am sure the committee chairmen, with input from the members,
will spruce up existing programs and possibly institute new
activities to address any shortcomings.
The annual Dinner Dance is coming up in April. Anthony
Santovasi has a very nice evening planned. It is a great way
to wrap up the season and socialize in a formal setting. More
information regarding this pleasurable event will be
forthcoming.

Annual Budget Meeting - March 20, 2008 - 7:30 PM
Please attend this important meeting and vote for the Meriden Ski
Club Budget. As a member, you have the right to question, add
insight and suggest changes to the budget. Get involved, help
your club. It's that easy!

Annual Elections
MARCH 13, 2008 is an important date for all members of the Meriden
Ski Club. At the meeting, nominations and elections will take
place.
I encourage all members to attend and take an active part in the
club.
Here are the current nominees for the club officers and
board members. Please bring your choices for nominees so that
these positions will not go to election uncontested. New blood to
these positions spark new ideas and help to keep the
Meriden Ski Club vibrant. I will remind all members that
anyone nominated for a position will also require a second. Also,
nominees must be present at the election in order to accept or
decline their nomination.

Tailgate Party at
Okemo Mountain
The Meriden Ski Club will hold its annual
tailgate party at the Okemo bus trip starting at 3:30 PM in the
bus lot. Hamburgers and Hot Dogs will be provided by the club.
Please bring a small side dish, dessert or snack. Folding
tables are also needed.
BYOB...Drinks, mud boots, and laughs...

MSC BUS TRIPS
Karl Skwiot is the chairman of the One Day Bus program.
He has put together a great schedule for bus trips this year. The
season is winding down, but there are 2 more great trips
scheduled!
The standard bus price will be $15 for members and $25 for
non-members. See Karl to sign up at the meetings. Buses will
leave from the Lewis Ave commuter parking lot in Meriden at 6:00
am sharp.

Free Ski and Board Lessons will
be given on Tuesday Nights at Mt Southington

Each evening
ticket will be $17.00 for members, a $27 value. These are evening
tickets and can be used toward purchasing a daytime ticket.

 Sugarbush,
VT
April 4 -
6, 2008
Sandy Davis is running a weekend ski trip to Sugarbush Resort in
Vermont . The package includes:

2 nights accommodations at
The Garrison
in Waitsfield, VT offering 2, 3, 4 bedroom and bunk Condos.

Indoor pool at least 89° with common area and ping-pong table.

4.5 miles to Sugarbush

Gratuities and taxes included
There
will be a Pot Luck dinner Saturday night. Sandy will be
coordinating food to bring for those who would like to
participate.
This is
a drive up trip. Check in after 3:00 PM on Friday and checkout
by 11:00 AM on Sunday.
$80 per
person for two nights, Friday and Saturday
NOTE: There are no lift tickets included in this price. This
weekend is Council Awareness Days with reduced price lift
tickets at $33 per day. Remember to bring your membership card
to be able to purchase tickets at the lower prices at the
mountain.
I will
be taking signups and $40 deposits starting January, 31st 2008.
Final payments are due before March, 13th 2008
