 Meriden Ski Club Newsletter
Dear Member,
The new ski season is just around the corner and this year
we have a new newsletter format. Your feedback is welcome as the
design of the Newsletter is ever changing. Please read on for club
information and trip details!

President's Letter 
September 1 marks the beginning of a new membership year that
encompasses an ambitious event and trip filled program. This year
members will be traveling from Sunday
River in Maine
to Stowe, Vermont
and west to Breckenridge,
Colorado. We even have a
splendid trip to Ridin Hy Ranch Resort in
upper New York State in the Lake George
area during the foliage season this October.
When
we are advised when CT Ski Council Awareness Days will be, we will
schedule the Saturday/Sunday bus trips and post the dates on our
web site expeditiously. Those members looking to purchase new equipment
for the coming season are reminded that the
Mount Southington/Bob's Chalet Ski Swap, is scheduled for October 20 and
21 at the mountain.
Our
Open House on October 25th promises to be even bigger and better
than ever. Bob Fowler is gathering some fantastic donations for the ever
popular door prizes. We will have flyers available for you to post
at your work and other favorite places to advertise the event.
Your
Board of Directors have had an extremely busy
and successful summer season organizing our event calendar through the
entire year. We are just waiting on the CT Ski Council to finish their
negotiations with the resorts for bulk tickets and council days. The
task this year has been hampered by all of the changing of resort
ownership. I have been advised that progress is being steadily made, and
the council awareness days are expected to total 90 to 100 again this
season.
All
that is left is to start getting in shape, get your skis sharpened and
waxed, throw some dry gas in the trunk of the vehicle and wait for an
early blizzard.

MERIDEN SKI CLUB OPEN

VP  Bob Fowler will be hosting the
Annual Open House for the Meriden
Ski Club on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the AOH Hall starting at 7:00
PM.
Come and see what
the club has to offer this year for ski trips and social events.
Find out what other skiers already know about discount tickets,
affordable day bus trips, week and weekend trips ,
racing and much more! Don't be left out in the cold....not without
your skis and cheap tickets!!
There will
be food, drink, raffles, door prizes, area retail shops and ski
resort reps. Come on down, and bring a friend!!
