equipment ready!! This newsletter is packed full of activities
and trips, so get ready for a great ski season!

President's Letter
This is a wonderful time of year for everyone who anticipates
Thanksgiving, the Christmas holidays with family and close
friends, and the first snowfall of the season. As the weather
cools down, many will be lighting up the fireplace to enjoy a
football game or the reading of a good book. Once the foliage is
gathered for pick-up, it will be time to relax and dream about
cruising the snow covered trails of your favorite resort.
Try to get your skis sharpened and waxed
now, to insure you will be ready for the first blizzard. My
guess is that the resorts in New England will be blessed with
cold weather, if not significant snow in preparation for the
long Thanksgiving weekend. Watch for some very enticing deals
early in the season from all of the northern resorts.
The Mount Southington night time lift
tickets are now available for $16.00 each, the same price as
last year including a $5.00 club subsidy. Mount Southington
management has been very good to the MSC for many years,
allowing bargain prices on lift tickets and allowing us use of
their facility for free member ski and snowboard lessons plus
minimum cost for our racing clinics. It would be nice if we
could all thank the management and staff when we visit their
slopes this season. Sending a personal e-mail would also work,
just mention the MSC.
I am hoping you all enjoy a happy and
healthy holiday season and all the time you can handle on the
snow covered slopes of beautiful New England.

CSC SNOWBALL ~ Downhill Dreams
It's time to get out your Sunday best and your
shiny dancing shoes! Yes, The Connecticut Ski Council presents
Downhill Dreams on November 10, 2007
at Hartford/Marriott from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am.
Tickets:
$25.00 at the door (if still available).
The MSC will host a Hospitality Suite before, during, and after
the party.
Room rate for the night is $99.00 plus tax. Please reserve your
room by October 27, 2007 by calling Hartford/Marriott
(860)688-7500. Be sure to mention The Connecticut Ski Council.
Please come for a great evening of Raffle Prizes, Music, Dancing

Spaghetti Dinner
The annual Spaghetti Dinner is being held Thursday November 15,
2007 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. All you can eat spaghetti,
salad, garlic bread, wine, desserts, ummm-ummm!! Raffles, door
prize and 50/50 too!!
Prices: $10 Adult, $5 for ages 6-11 and under
5 eat for free
Come and eat a lot and bring some friends!!

MSC BUS TRIPS
Karl Skwiot is the chairman of the One Day Bus program.
He has put together a great schedule for bus trips this year.
And in an effort to make the bus program more affordable and to
encourage participation, we have lowered the price of the bus on
our first two trips!!
The standard bus price will be $15 for members and $25 for
non-members. See Karl to sign up at the meetings. Buses will
leave from the Lewis Ave commuter parking lot in Meriden at
6:00 am sharp.

The MSC has rented a large house in downtown
Ludlow, 1 mile from Okemo with free shuttle bus right from the
front door.
